I’m grilling steaks tonight for dinner.
The recipe (or more accurately, the technique) I use for grilling steaks on the grill out on the deck has been added to the Main Dishes section.
It’s hard to beat a nice thick t-bone. And the dogs suddenly love me every time I do this.

So we’re trying to eat healthier in my house.
It’s been interesting (and by interesting, I mean not really very interesting at all), because nothing really tastes as good. People try and tell you that it does, with the right seasonings and such…but don’t let them fool you, it doesn’t.
With that said, I will tell you that it doesn’t have to taste completely boring.
Last night I made a vegetable lasagna with hodgson mill whole wheat lasagna. I used the recipe on the back of the box, (which honestly was a bit disappointing, it wasn’t bad, but could have been much better in my opinion). The noodles however, were as good as any “regular” dried lasagna from a box. If you’re trying to eat more whole grain in your diet, (which you should definitely be doing) give this a try in your next lasagna.

Welcome to “Playing With Your Food”!
This is my first post of many to come.
I’ve set up this site as a place for me to share my favorite recipes with everyone, as well as a place to discuss all things culinary. Recipes, techniques, restaurants, chefs, food-related television, or whatever else you might want to talk about.
